General Management

Mike Kulwiec, CDT
26 years experience
President and General Manager

Mike Kulwiec attended the University of Southern California, graduating Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 1979, with a major in Business Administration and Social Science. He grew up the in the dental lab field as his father, Len, was also a technician and lab owner. Mike earned his CDT in 1982.

Mike is the founder and owner of Dental Masters Laboratory. He has published and lectured internationally on the subjects of management and dental technology. He has successfully developed two other dental businesses, both sold to NASDAQ listed companies. Mike now directs Dental Masters’ development as a premier quality, service-focused laboratory.

Mike Kulwiec Mike enjoys skiing, tennis, hiking, reading & traveling. He resides in Sonoma County, home to Dental Masters Lab.

Tony Sanchez, CDT
32 years experience
Director of Technical Training & Education

Tony attended Loyola University (Biology) and Sonoma State University (Computer Science). Before college he worked in his father’s dental laboratory and after college he worked for E &M, Zella and Buttress labs. He joined Dental Masters Laboratory in 1979.

As Director of Training, Tony manages instruction to both entry-level and experienced technicians in all phases of dental technology.

In the Lab

Gene Davis
38 years experience
Manager - Crown & Bridge/Ceramics

After graduating from the US Naval Dental Technology Program in 1967, Gene began his career at Mullen Dental Lab in Philadelphia, later becoming the ceramic department manager. In 1977 he became the manager of the ceramic department at Stern Empire in Houston Texas and was later promoted to President/GM of OCA in Albuquerque, NM.

As a Master Ceramist, Gene has attended advanced programs at leading institutes, including Pankey, LVI, Tanaka and PacLive. Gene began his career at Dental Masters Laboratory in 1992 as Empress Department Manager. He became the manager of Crown & Bridge/Ceramics in 2001.

John Hazen
28 years experience
Technical Advisor - Fixed and Removable

After graduating from the US Naval Dental Technology Program in 1977, John worked as the in house technician for Prosthodontist Dr. Robert Poteat in Raleigh, NC. He then worked at Pacado Dental Lab and was the owner of Deer Creek Dental Lab before joining Dental Masters Laboratory in 1987.

With formal training, specialized courses and hands-on experience in both removable and fixed restorations, John is our implant advisor and general advisor in Crown & Bridge.

 

hazen John enjoys baseball, golf, fishing, gardening, carpentry and trips to our local coast, parks and rivers.

Toni Holley, CDT
30 years experience
Manager - Removable Partial Dentures

Toni graduated from Santa Rosa Junior College (Theatre Arts) in 1973. She started her career with Dental Masters Laboratory in 1975 as metal finishing technician; she advanced to team leader in 1991 and became RPD Manager in 1996. Toni became a CDT in 2003.

holley She enjoys all outdoor activities including camping, hiking, fishing, white-water rafting and kayaking.

Paul Colvin, CDT
14 years experience
Lead Designer - Removable Partial Dentures

Paul joined Dental Masters Laboratory in 1991 and was trained in RPD design. He has developed a national reputation as a talented technician with superb communication skills. Paul became a CDT in 2003.

Arleen "Lenny" Amaya

Manager - Complete Dentures & Flexible Partials

Lenny began her dental technology career in 1978 at Shortridge-Young Dental Lab in San Rafael, Ca. She joined Dental Masters Laboratory in 1987. She has received advanced technical training at Dentsply-Trubyte, Ivoclar and PTC. She is a Dale Carnegie graduate.

Arleen Amaya Lenny enjoys walking, bike rides, motorcycles, collecting dolls, old cars and fishing.


Marin Branch Lab

Aung Thinn, CDT

Manager - San Francisco Branch Lab
Manager - Complete Dentures & Valplast

Aung graduated with a BS in Zoology in 1972 from Arts and Sciences University, Rangoon, Burma. In 1974 he received a diploma in Dental Technology from the Rangoon Institute of Dental Medicine. He then worked and instructed at Mandalay General Hospital and the Institute of Dental Medicine, Yangon. Aung came the US in 1994. He earned his CDT in 2001 and worked with JDH lab before joining Dental Masters in 2004.

Aung Thin Aung enjoys playing golf, cooking, time with his family.


Accounting and Administration

Donna Natale
Manager - Finance and Human Resources

Donna holds an Human Resource Management certificate from Santa Rosa Junior College where she also studied accounting and business management. Prior to joining Dental Masters Laboratory in 2000, Donna was the Accounting/Office Manager for Hlebakos Produce and Senior Buyer for Ritz Food Services.

Donna Natale

Donna enjoys spending time with her family, watching her kids play sports, Harley motorbike rides, swimming & boating.

Stephanie Mathes
Manager - Case Handling & Distribution

Prior to joining Dental Masters in 2004, Stephanie had a 13 years sales and management experience in the jewelry supply industry. Stephanie oversees the incoming and outgoing flow of our casework and responds to the service needs of our clients.
Stephanie Mathes Stephanie enjoys reading, gardening, ranching, her dogs, cats and horses and buzzing through the daily crossword puzzle.


Client Support

Marcel Kapulica, CDT
45 years experience
Client Advisor

Marcel graduated from drafting school in Belgrade, Yugoslavia in 1957. He soon immigrated to the United States and later worked at Pacific Dental Lab. He is a graduate of the SFCC Dental Technology Program. Marcel was the owner of Empire Dental Laboratory from 1961 until 1988, when the lab became part of Dental Masters Laboratory.

Marcel is a recognized nationally for his vast technical knowledge and for his many contributions to dentistry.

Marcel enjoys photography, viniculture and participating in San Francisco political and community activities.
